Theme 6 – Systemic Issues Affecting Caregiving Families

In this section we hear from family members about the systems and social institutions that their families have interacted with, and the ways in which they have experienced harm. Interviewees discussed examining and tackling the root causes of systemic inequities to promote the possibility of prevention and better recovery. Many family members also expressed a wish to participate in advocacy efforts and contribute to solutions for caregiving families.
